UTOPIA : 내면의 안식처 블루스크린에서 <UTOPIA>를 7월 4일에서 7월 7일까지 개최한다. 문신 작업 사진과 회화 ⋅ 설치 작품들이 <UTOPIA>에서 함께 선보인다. 문신에 대해 가지는 작품관과 세계관을 다매체 작품에서 공통적으로 엿볼 수 있다. <무릉도원 시리즈, 2017-2022> 무릉도원이라는 소재를 회화 작품과 문신 작업의 형태로 살펴볼 수있다. 현실에 치여 우리가 놓치고 있을지도 모르는 쉼의 가치에 대해 생각한다. 세속으로부터 떠난 풍경이 가득 차 있고, 티끌 없는 하늘이 존재하는 세상, 그리고 자유로이 떠도는 개체들, 내적 의식을 고요케 만드는 존재들을 작업들에서 발견할 수 있다. <장막, 2022, 가변설치> 장막의 사전적 의미 중에서는 ‘볕 또는 비바람을 피할 수 있도록 둘러치는 막’이라고도 설명된다. 소중한 존재를 기리며 어디서나 함께하고 싶은 사연을 가진 손님들을 봐오며 구상한 작업이다. 문신이 모사한 이미지일 뿐이라고 생각할 수 있지만 이와 같이 수호의 역할이 될 수도 있다. 문신을 바라보며 따뜻한 위안을 받고,힘을 낼 수 있다는 것. 그것이 장막과 같은 존재가 아닐까. 자유분방한 성향과 쉽게 들이닥치는 격정과 불안의 감정들로 하여금 점점 더 내면의 안식처라는 작업 주제에 몰두하게 되는 이유 같다. 작업들로 하여금, 감상자들의 마음에도 개개인의 유토피아적인 모습을 떠오르게 하는 계기가 되길 바란다.
